Severe Weather

Essex experiences severe weather from time to time. These severe conditions can be associated with heavy rain, snow, strong winds or extreme temperatures. As past weather has demonstrated – severe conditions can lead to significant impacts and disruption to our usual day-to-day life.

As the UK’s national weather service provider, the Met Office issues severe weather Alerts and Warnings as part of the National Severe Weather Warnings Service. Weather warnings can be issued for:
