Supporting your local community

After having a look round this website you may already be thinking about what you could do either yourself, or with others, to help your community be better prepared for risks such as flooding and severe weather.

So what is Community Resilience? It isn't about doing the work of the emergency services and Local Authorities. It's about supporting your community and those in it by making sensible preparations, using the skills and knowledge already in the community.

There are lots of easy ways you can do this, either by supporting some of the work happening in your area (you can click here for our interactive map), or by looking to establish something new - such as a Community Emergency Plan.

Further information can alos be found in the Essex Community Risk Register Public Information located at the Know Your Risk section.
